Typescript of military diary, January 1 - June 7, 1864, kept by Lieutenant Colonel Thomas B. Fairleigh, 26th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, USA. Fairleigh records his service as a member of a court martial; details of army life at Camp Nelson, Lexington, and Louisville; attendance at opera and theater performances; furloughs; the consolidation of the unit with the 33rd Kentucky Volunteer Infantry; and resistance to the enlistment of black soldiers.
